Upper Michigan Places to Visit

Call of the Yooper - The premier site for all things Yooper. Yooper and author James Studinger reveals just what it means to be a Yooper and what there is to see in the Great U.P. One of the best U.P. websites ever! Even Trolls will find it usefulness for understanding Yooperese--including the meanings of those names we call them.

Hunt's Guide to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - tons of information is here about Upper Michigan.  Be sure to look at the Historic Ridge and Arch Streets link where you'll find a picture of the historical Merritt House in Marquette, which inspired the Henning Mansion in The Marquette Trilogy novels of Tyler R. Tichelaar.

Northern Lights Lakeside Resort - This is the place to stay, a beautiful resort on Farmer's Lake, where I spent many fine summers myself.  Come see "God's Country".

Peter White Public Library - Far more than a library. For over a century, the library Peter White established, has been a gathering place in Marquette - exhibits, art gallery, gift shop, coffee shop, cultural center, and an architecturally wonderful building. Iron Pioneers is proud to call it home.

US National Ski Hall of Fame - the history of skiing in the United States, located in Ishpeming Michigan.
